Intermittently Dropping Internet Connection-C6300/AC1750
This past weekend I replaced my old Netgear cable modem/router with the C6300v2. (The old one worked perfectly fine, but it was about 7 years old and I thought it might be time to replace it.) Unfort...

Yeah, this went back to Walmart earlier this week (along with the extender/boosters that I thought were needed and would help - but they did not).
We exchanged the C6300 for the Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 (Model #C7000) for about $10 more than the AC1750 / C6300 and it has worked flawlessly since we connected it. No drops of wifi and my doorbell camera connects with no problem. The reach is fine. There is definitely an issue with the C6300 model. Sorry you missed your window of return!

Well, I tried connecting with the ethernet cable. I used my laptop all day and it didn't disconnect. So, as I said the problem is the wifi. Unfortunately, there are times when I have to use my laptop in a different room so this is not a viable solution for me.
I tried doing the factory reset and reinstall. I connected my laptop via wifi and about 2 hours later the wifi disconnected. I also looked to see if there were any firmware updates and there weren't any.
I guess I should have checked here before purchasing this model since there are quite a few posts about this problem and none seem to have a solution. Unless you have any other suggestions it looks like I'm going to have to find a different modem/router and return this one.

If you return it, I'd recommen looking for a seperate modem from the router.
We usually don't recommend combo devices because the ISP's lock down the firmware.
They're not user updatable. So when there are issues, even if netgear issues an update, the isp's rarely push them out.

Thanks for all your suggestions, plemans. My old Netgear combination modem/router worked pretty much flawlessly for 7 years, which is why I bought this one. I don't really have the space to have two devices. Since I found at least a dozen posts here with this exact problem with this particular model of modem/router and no solution, I think Netgear needs to address this or discontinue this model. I have used Netgear for many, many years and have always been very happy with them, but now I may need to try a different manufacturer.
