every day is more confusing than the last. The box says CM1200 Cable Modem.
When I click on Systems Settings, Wi-FI, Details, TCP/IP, Router IP 192.168.4.1
So I am very sure this is not what I want. Right now it winds up going to NextDNS
I really do not know how to fix this

What kind of router do you have connected that betwen the CM modem and your PC? That 192.168.4.1 address is coming from a router, not the CM modem.
Look at the first page here where it says "Connect a Router"
https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/CM1200/CM1200_All_MSOs_QSG_EN.pdf
Is how and what you should be connecting to the CM modem.

OK CM1200 is located on the second floor, connected to xfinity (wireless, tv)
Also on the second floor with a eero connected to CM1200
On the first floor with have another eero and a DVR for recording
2 MAC's running Sonoma and a lightly used PC running Windows 10

This "Eero" system probably or should be a host router. I believe most Eero systems have a base router and satellites.
Something to go and chat with the Eero folks about use and configuration of there products.
Good Luck.- WallyJCOct 20, 2023Aspirant
Yes, I checked the EERO system and there it is 192.168.4.1
I had 2 Xfininty modems and not enough bandwidth, switched to the CM1200. He was installing TV's and he programed the CM1200.
I thank you for your help, you seem to be leaving me.
My **bleep** is with the person that installed NextDNS not being able to remove it.
I have installed Telephone systems for a living and I have never had a router issue. Even in the very old days when having a 300 baud modem.
I expect that Comcast/Century Link will be installing fiber/cable in this area and of course I will want that as well. Should be interesting getting both of them and there hardware.
