IP Subnet different in Router

I noticed today that my IP Subnet mask, when viewed from my router's page, lists the IPsubnet mask as 255.255.240.0
When I use ipconfig /all, the subnet mask shows 255.255.255.0
Is there a reason for this?
  • A router has 2 subnet masks.  One for the Internet/WAN port and one for the LAN ports.  You may have been looking at the mask for the Internet/WAN port.
