Is it possible to disable the Cable modem on CAX80? and use it as a bridge/access point?

I have a CAX80 and would like to use it as an access point.  It appears that if the cable modem does not "connect" it'll shut down/reboot.   Can this behavior be changed?

During the period when it's booting up and searching/waiting to connect to, it does appear to behave nicely as a bridge/access point (ie a dumb switch).

Advice or wisdom available from the community?

Thanks

No. there isn't a way. The older models you could put it in a form of AP mode but not the CAX versions. With the way they're provisioned, if it doesn't detect a coax connection, it reboots (as you've found out) and just loops.

If you've moved to a none coax ISP, it might be time to sell it and put the $ into a different router.
