Is Netgear Nighthawk WiFi6 Cable Modem Router CAX30 a good fit for my home?
So right now I have a Nighthawk C7000V2 but recently it started dropping internet connection and my ISP insists it is not on their end (which I doubt). Or maybe we are using too much bandwith that this device just doesn't have?
Anyway we mainly stream for shows and movies as we don't have a cable plan just internet. I have my PS5 hardwired into the modem router. Family has smart TV hard wired into the device. around 13-17 devices are connected to the modem router. So I am wondering if maybe we need a more "beefy" modem router? Maybe one with DOCSIS 3.1 32X8 (which I would like to understand that 32x8 a bit more). From what I have looked at out current device is DOCSIS 3.0 24x8 which says theoretical speed is 1000Mbps which would be 125MBps. Where as DOCSIS 3.1 32x8 says 10,000 Mbps which would be 1250MBps.
So any assistance on this would be great. As I would like to get my money worth from the product.

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
The CAX30 only supports up to 1Gb since the LAN ports are only 1000Mpbs max.
If you have a download package of 1.2Gb or higher, either the CAX80 or the CM2000 that have 2.5Gb supporting ports.

So you are saying CAX30 would not be ideal?- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
For the size of home, yes it would be. For the speed package. No.
