Is there a way to adjust speed on LAN jacks?

Question

We have been using the modem just for wireless connections and just tried hooking up a PC with an ethenet jack to it.&nbsp; I was surprised to see the speed so slow. Is there a way to adjust the speed for the ethernet jacks?

I'm not sure.&nbsp; It's Spectrum cable&nbsp;"Ultimate 300" so I'm guessing that is 10/100?? Thanks.

[...]&nbsp;&nbsp; Define "so slow".&gt; [...] Is there a way to adjust the speed for the ethernet jacks?&nbsp;&nbsp; Generally, no.&nbsp; You normally get the highest speed which the twoconnected devices negotiate between themselves.&nbsp;&nbsp; On Windows (10), perhaps: Settings &gt; Network &amp; Internet &gt; ChangeAdapter Options &gt; Status would show you the Speed.

To me, it sounds like the problem is on the PC side. It will depends on what speeds the Ethernet card is capable of, and the Ethernet drivers could be a problem.I would first try the methods the user gave above for checking the PCs status of Ethernet device.If that doesn't get you anywhere, I would try finding out what kind of network/ethernet interface card you have in PC. Going through device manager might help this. Once you've done that you can look online for the correct drivers from the NIC manufacturer. You always want to go through PC manufacturer or NIC manufacturer, because just searching on Google will bring up so many "speed up my PC" crap links.
