Issues with new modem - CM1200

Most of any router works well with the CM1200. NGs R7960P takes advantage of the modems LAG features if you have any interest in that. XR series gaming routers work as well if your into gaming and such.
Make sure that any router/switch you connect support 1000Mbps on the LAN ports. You don't want to limit performance with older 100Mbps hardware.
Key configuration is that you connect a router to the back of the modem and any and all switches placed after the router.

I currently have a TP Link N450 Wirless Router and it has no issues, and a Netgear G54 WGR614v10 and it won't connect. It keeps saying it's having issues detecting the internet connection. I've tried over and over resetting both routers, resetting the internet connection with Spectrum but with no success, also it seems to not be working with a ethernet splitter I have set up, it's only providing an internet connection to one PC instead of all four, the model is a TP Link TL-SF1005D 5-port switch.
Are there any routers and ethernet splitters that work best with this modem?
