What wireless devices are you using to speed test?
Wireless speed testing can be inaccurate due to variables in wifi.
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Hi thanks for the reply, sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. Let me give you figures only for my desktop. The router is in the same room 4 feet from the computer. The speed test is Ookla, but I have used many with comparable results. Ookla is recommended by the signal provider of Spectrum.
1) Hard Wired - desk top to router Ping 9 Ms, Down 118.40 Mbps, Up 18.48 Mbps
2) WiFi - desk top to router Ping 8 Ms, Down 34.8 Mbps, 19.5 Mbps
The Ping and the upload are always about the same, but the download is always about the same in loss even if I do the same test on my laptop. In fact, if I take my laptop to another room the readings are the about same for Ping, Download, and Upload.
In my area there are most times 5 to 6 other WiFi networks up that my computer picks up.
I though that "Auto" was for the system to select the better channel at that time.
