model C6300. I have gotten a notice that my router has low security. How do I handle that?
The notice says I must configure my router to use WPA2(AES) or WPA3 security type. Can anyone help me do that? Or do I have to purchase a new router?

THe message has just come up on my wifi settings. My router /modem is about 3 years old and previuosly perfromed quite well until I moved into a different area. Now it seems all I have are connections problems, and I din't want security to be an issue.

Hi marymuffin,
Good day!
Welcome to NETGEAR Community!
First of all, we do apologize for the inconvenience of not getting back to you immediately due to the backlog in the system. The C6300v1 and v2 don't support WPA3 yet as well as any of our Cable modems. We do have our AX or WiFi 6 routers that support WPA3. The WPA2 is still secured though but if you are thinking of upgrading your wireless network, you may need to replace the C6300 with a plain modem and a wireless router separately.
Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need further assistance.
Regards,
Oliver
