Model C6300 WiFi not strong enough

My AC1750 WiFi Cable Modem Router, Model C6300, Firmware V2.01.18 does not provide a wireless signal strong enough to reach devices 60 feet away.  My house is essentially a one-story rectangle 60 feet long and 40 feet wide.  The Router is in our computer room at one end of our house.  The wireless signal is very weak in our master bedroom at the other end of our house.  It created two wireless networks:  WILKEY   2.4GHz  b/g/n  and  WILKEY-5G  5GHz  b/g/n .  All devices that are 30 feet away or closer connect with the WILKEY network fine and have excellent signals.  Any device further away has intermittant connections at best.  I think I paid about $200.00 for this router.  Figured to get better service than this.  Anybody have any ideas about what I can do about this problem?  Thanks.

You can get the wifi to the far reaches of the property by putting in a powerline device with a wifi access point.

Powerline Networking | Powerline Ethernet | NETGEAR

Look for those ones with wifi.

Connect "host" plug to router, get "guest" plug, the one with wifi, working near the router and then put it at the other end of the property.

  • I had to to get a Netgear WiFi extender. You put it half way between router and where you want to your WiFi to extend to. I also upped my wifi speed it wasn't great enough for camera's. I don't know if this helps.
