The computer will connect through the VPN at other sites, so IT thinks it's our router that is cousing the problem. Our router is the AC3200 model C7800 with Cox cable. I have read many tips related to different routers but this router is different so non of the solutions work.
Your companies IT thinks that?
Did you try contacting the VPN provider "sonicwall"?

The reason I know the problem at the router because, I connected my laptop via my cell phone hotspot, then I can connect to device at work via the VPN connection.

Not saying its not the router but your vpn might need specific ports/setup for it to work

Urgent, please help! Is there any fix for VPN connection issue? My laptop could not establish VPN connection if it is behind C7800 router. If I switched Wifi connection to cell phone hotspot, then I could establish the VPN connection.
