Modem-CM1100- Not able to connect laptop with modem
i have cable modem cm1100. it works well with google wifi router. but if i use other port to connect my laptop with modem, it does not work. can anyone please tell me why? and how to fix this ...

The CM1100 is a modem, not a modm+router. With typical residential
service from your ISP, which allows you one external IP address,
connecting multiple client devices requires the use of a (NAT) router,
not only a modem.[...] and how to fix this issue?
Connect a router to the CM1100, and connect your client devices to
that router.
