Modem Router speed issue
Hello I’m looking for assistance to get my WiFi back up to speed, I previously had an average of 600-900mbps download on my C7800 for 2.4G, 5G, and Ethernet. Without much knowledge I plugged a new XR500 in and the 2.4G and 5G WiFi on the C7800 dropped and seemed to both be capped at 90mbps and the XR500 WiFi had the 600-900mbps download. It was great for months but one day the XR500 WiFi dropped to 90 or less and the C7800 2.4 is still below 90 but the C7800 5G is now stuck around 300 so that’s what I’ve been living off of. I completely disconnected the XR500 from everything and now just trying to get my C7800 operating again, I tried several resets, factory resets, power cycling, and days on the phone with my ISP and can’t get it to change could this be a configuration issue?

1. there's no way you hit 600-900mbps over 2.4ghz. the 90mbps is more realistic. 2.4ghz is a slow bandwidth that broadcasts further and through more materials. but it sure isn't fast.
2. there's no way you hit 900mbps over 5ghz with the c7800.Its maximum link speed on a 2x2 device is only 1100mbps. That's link speed. Actual throughput is usually only 55-65% of link speed. and thats if your conditions are optimal.
so the question is, how were you testing those speeds and how are you currently testing them now?
If you're testing through the netgear app, it hosts the tests on the router. Meaning its not testing the speed at the device.
And it doesn't always test using the best servers. its why we rarely recommend poeple use it for testing.
So, how were you testing these speeds?
And what device are you testing on?
What wired speeds do you get using the speedtest site (try several servers)
