Most Secure Way to Set Up C7000v2 to Protect from ISP Logging
Here is my current home network configuration:
C7000v2 cable modem (personally owned)
Linksys EA7500 wireless router
The reason I’m asking this question is because when I was setting up my C7000v2, when I would type in the 192.168.0.1 address to access the dashboard, my ISP would hijack the DNS and redirect me to their internet set up page.
Currently, I have a VPN configured on my Linksys router and usually use those wireless networks but the paranoid part of me keeps thinking that the traffic still passes through the cable modem so the ISP. And the C7000v2 can’t be configured to use a VPN, but I do have a proxy.
When I configure everything using the proxy and do a what is my IP address website, my IPv4 is hidden or shows me at a different location. However, my IPv6 rats me out and shows my ISP and location.
Other than disabling IPV6, is there any way to reconfigure it so it is disguised. Kind of like spoofing it I guess.
