I as well have the Xfinity Gigabit X2 plan. My downstream LED went out a few days ago but the CM3000 is fully functional and all 32 downstream channels are locked. I installed this modem on 1/15/202...

I'm presently connected via the router 1G LAN input.
Firmware Version V5.01.02
It's strange yesterday the downstream came back on and this morning the online was out but now ow all the LED's are on.
The host router id TP=Link DECOXE75 Pro.
Yes, the cable in question is a 6' yellow CAT6 cable I was not really using the system yesterday. Also all LED's are working.
I will paste most of the cable connection as requested.
I do use a VPN most of the time but I have to disable it to supply this data.
As you can see my speeds are good. I have at times connected my pc to a satellite 2.5G LAN input to obtain about 1.7G download speeds via wireless to the main router.
I just noticed the downstream LED is out again.
I'm hesitant to supply the event log because it contains MAC addresses.
Apparently, it only lets me attach one image.

Ok, making sure your on v5 FW. There are known issues on v6 FW.
Edit out the MAC addresses.
