You are most likely seeing an absence of replies because your modem/router is made specifically for ISPs and there is little public information about it, I’m not even sure if Netgear Tech Support will offer support advice.
Does the router have any logs that you can look at? DHCP issues sound like the most likely cause, and should be easy to identify from a log. If it is DHCP then there’s little that can be done short of a firmware change. Do you know if your public IP address changes very often? If not then you should have the option to set your WAN (public) IP to a static value, and in doing that your next failure will be when the WAN IP actually changes, at which point you will lose your internet connection completely. If you are able to do that as a test it might help in isolating the cause, and you can then set the router back to WAN DHCP afterwards so that it regains its Internet connection.

That event log image on page 31 looks interesting considering it shows DHCP errors at the kind of intervals you describe.
