yes, with xfnity.
If it worked before the hardware hasn't failed. its xfinity that is having an issue with their system.
If they messed something up in their system, its on them to fix it.

Sure. Though I have gone through Xfinity multiple times and now would like to try here because I am also reading that there may be something Netgear can do to fix it (based on other forums). So I would kindly ask that someone else respond if they have a solution through this.

If this modem came from a different user on the same ISP service, it's up to either the prior user to let the ISP know they have removed the modem or it's up to the ISP to remove it from there system/database and clear there system for this modem. The serial number and MAC address on any modem is burned into each modem and can NOT be changed whatsoever by end users. Its on the the ISP to remove it from there system or make changes to there system. Seen this before where one user has a modem on the ISP and removes it, the user or ISP doesn't remove it from the system, the user sells this modem to someone else while on same ISP service and next user tries to get it connected an the ISP says it's associated with another account. Theres nothing you can do for this. The ISP needs to fix there system and data base for this particular modem MAC address. Ask for escalated ISP support. Or return the modem to where you go it and find a NEW modem that has not been connected to the ISP.
Ya think the ISP would cross check the mac address of this modem and see that the last users account doesn't have this modem anymore and maybe using something different. :smileyfrustrated:
