NETGEAR C6300 LAN Issues
I have the modem/router combo C6300 docsis 3.0 and when i plug it in to the wired network for the house nothing happens. the lights on any of the outgoing ports dont light up and devices plugged in ...
Are you trying to use the C6300 as a modem/router or as a router? How are you connecting it to your network?
im using it as a modem/router. right now i am connected using the wifi. I would imagine I should be able to do both wifi and LAN as I have with previous netgear routers.
I see. You can access the Internet via Wi-Fi but not via Ethernet. Hmm, if the Ethernet lights on the C6300 are not lighting up and you have tried different cables, then it's possible that the C6300 is defective.
Okay, well I've had it for several months so I'm well beyond the return window. I didnt know the LAN part didnt work until i moved into this new house just a week ago. i was running off wifi at my old place and never bothered to test a physical connection. I guess my only option is to buy another or just continue to use wifi only. lesson learned i suppose. thanks for the input, much appreciated.
