how are you testing the speed?
What device?
What site?
What app?
Wired?
Wireless? And speed for 2.4ghz? 5ghz?
Details are key.

ive used xfinity speed test also the app speedtest. Ive tested on my samsung galaxy tab s7 and my phone which is also new. and i always check that its 5ghz. Before both my tablet and phone would get the 400 mbps but after update its around 275.

What wired speed do you get from a hardwired pc/laptop?
the in app netgear speedtest isn't accurate.
And that router is a combo device. I've never seen it hit 400mbps over 5ghz. 300mbps is more what I've seen. And I'd normally tell you to post in the proper forum but it'd be me responding over there.
I'll see if I can get a mod to move it.

i can tell you that in the xfinity modem i saw 580 and even 600. On this modem when i used to have the 400mbps i would see like 380 and more it was very close to the 400 i saw it myself. I test my speeds on wireless 5ghz all the time my computer is old and wont get those speeds.

but i gotta be honest my router modem works okay its just that im getting 275 when i pay for 600. Ive thought about buying a new one 3.1 and wifi 6 but i dont know when ill switch provider and i also think it could be capricious on my part. I just dont understand why their modem gets the full 600 and mines gets 275 it wasnt like that before. Before my modem would get the full 400 on wifi

Thats why I'd like you to test wired speeds.
There isn't the same bottleneck on wired speeds so its going to be the most accurate.
We're trying to first figure out if you have the proper config file from your isp.
If you can hit full wired speeds, then its a wireless issue and little things like changing wifi channels might help.
But if you're not, we can waste a bunch of time trying to troubleshoot when its a configuration issue.
