What wired speed do you get from a hardwired pc/laptop?
the in app netgear speedtest isn't accurate.
And that router is a combo device. I've never seen it hit 400mbps over 5ghz. 300mbps is more what I've seen.
And I'd normally tell you to post in the proper forum but it'd be me responding over there.
I'll see if I can get a mod to move it.

but i gotta be honest my router modem works okay its just that im getting 275 when i pay for 600. Ive thought about buying a new one 3.1 and wifi 6 but i dont know when ill switch provider and i also think it could be capricious on my part. I just dont understand why their modem gets the full 600 and mines gets 275 it wasnt like that before. Before my modem would get the full 400 on wifi

Thats why I'd like you to test wired speeds.
There isn't the same bottleneck on wired speeds so its going to be the most accurate.
We're trying to first figure out if you have the proper config file from your isp.
If you can hit full wired speeds, then its a wireless issue and little things like changing wifi channels might help.
But if you're not, we can waste a bunch of time trying to troubleshoot when its a configuration issue.

i honestly have no way to test wired speed but when the xfinity router i would get the 600 i think it might have to do with my router being 3.0 and wifi 5 when now its 3.1 and wifi 6 i believe i think its that what do you think im just trying to learn i dont think this can be solved i have tried changing the wfi channels from 156 to i believe 38 and nothing has increased the speed over 275

How were you testing the speeds before?
With the built in test?
And is that the same with the xfinity (has its own built in speedtest)?
If so, those tests are hosted on the router. Not on the device you're testing on.
And the netgear one is notorious for choosing the wrong server.
Its again why we recommend testing wired.
