Netgear C7100V cable modem stopped working (comcast)

I've had this cable modem for less than a  year (triple play, internet/phone/tv) just a few days go it stopped connecting to the internet no internet/phone called Comcast they came out checked the lines replaced coaxial cable connectors and that was it. Rebooted the modem have phone service but no internet.

 Hooked up my old Motorola  sb6120 and bingo I'm connected. 

I'm running the latest firmware 2.01.37 I factory defaulted the c7100v modem, my question is...

What are my choices on troubleshooting this modem,?  do I call Comcast and activate the modem? is this my only choice?

    if your phone works and internet is gone, request comcast to re-activate it and factory reset and re-setup the device again.
