Netgear CAX30 Mac Cloning
Is that a possibility? I’m looking to change my ip address because Comcast doesn’t understand my request for a new ip. They don’t understand what I ask for. They just say “we rebooted your modem”. Rebooting a modem alone does not change ip.

If it is possible to manually set the CAX30 MAC address, it would be in the setup section described on page 20 of the user manual:

I have found that the people answering technical support lines vary widely in their ability. I would call at least a couple of more times and state the problem. then ask to be connected to Level II support.
I have a cable modem Tuning Adapter which suddenly stopped working one day. Spectrum rolled a support truck and the (very nice) technician replaced almost all my cable connectors, swapped out the Tuning Adapter three times, made a dozen calls to support, and finally gave up when his shift ended. Before driving out to the Spectrum store to make one more swap, I called support myself again. Nice lady said, "Oh, your account is not coded correctly. Here. Can you try it again." Ta Da! All that work for nothing because someone in the billing department had coded my account incorrectly and when the monthly billing cycle rolled around it disabled my Tuning Adapter.
Sorry to rant.
