Netgear CG3000D Eurodocsis 3.0 Wireless Cable Modem Gateway no longer broadcasts wifi signal

I purchased this new in July, 2015. Everything was fine, until several days ago when the wifi signal no longer could be found on any of our devices. Connecting my laptop directly to the unit allows me to access the internet no problem, but no wifi signal is happening. Has anyone experienced this before? And/or can anyone possibly help me? Netgear wants me to purchase a ridiculous technical support plan for them to troubleshoot it. For as much as they want to charge, I can purchase a new unit with money left over. But I would rather not purchase anything at all, espescially at only 8 months of use.
