I think I figured it out, why the slower speeds when wired. I turned off the firewall, malware and antivirus security features built into the router. After doing that, I was up to 910 to 930.
On a side note, I still feel that I should be able to update the firmware on my modem, just like I can update it on my router! Since my ISP won't update my modem firmware because I don't rent it from them!!

I think we all think that but its part of the docsis spec. Half the reason is that if users could change firmware, they could change their speed tier as that's set with the modem provisioning.
Its one of the reasons you'll rarely see forum members recommend the modem/router combo devices as their firmware is locked too. (except the CAX series, the router side can be upgraded but not the modem side.
This not being able to update modems is true for all brands.
