Netgear CM2000 page source says I'm using Open DNS, where as I am using Xfinity's DNS

To explain while I am viewing the source page of the advance tab. Where the modems stats are listed. Not the signal stats, it says the modem is using OpenDNS. My router is configured using the Xfinity DNS servers.

I do know that my CMTS I am connected to is a Cisco CBR 8, so I was wondering if the DNS servers from the CMTS is what I am seeing on the source page? That may fall under services used by Cisco Umbrella. Despite it being a Comcast managed CMTS.

  • This is what the source code says, about my DNS. Factory reset does not change it either.

    208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220 is OpenDNS.

By choice, I have Open DNS configured as my primary DNS for both IPv4 and IPv6.  My configuration uses the primary Comcast DNS as secondary.

Here is the configuration test address for Open DNS.  If you get the orange check mark, you are going through the Open DNS.

      • So it says I am not using Open DNS.

My theory maybe correct, since I am on a Cisco CMTS, so this is probably set on the ISP side. The CM2000 does not have user configurable internet settings like a router. Here is a screen shot of the section of the source page.

The only reason I have been into the source pages is trying to find hidden pages to see stuff I shouldn't see.
