NETGEAR N300 Wi-Fi Cable Modem Router (C3000) doesn't see Seagate backup 4THD
Belatedly I learned that the 5T seagate hard drive is not listed as compatible with this modem. But the 4T is, so I bought the 4t Seagate hard drive.
Seagate Backup Plus 4TB Desktop External Hard Drive with 200GB of Cloud Storage & Mobile Device Backup USB 3.0 NETGEAR N300 Wi-Fi DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem Router (C3000)
Now when I run netgenie is says usb not available. Have turned off and off both router and hard drive and computer numerous times. It's a big pain but no success.
Does anyone have a step by step trouble shooting guide?
Richard

If it's any help, my modem is running V1.01.11 firmware.

I wonder whether anyone from Netgear reads this . . . I was able to contact Segate. I asked them whether their 4 TB hard drive could be connected to this Netgear cable modem. The reply was thathe Seagate does not support this use of their hard drive. I asked whether that meant the hard drive wouldn't work with the modem. They said, "maybe, maybe not, but it's not supported."
Apparently, Netgear doesn't support it either.

From the resounding silence, I take it that no one has any idea how to troubleshoot this issue. Ah, a man of regrets am I! But I learned a lesson.
