Netgear Nighthawk 5ghz WiFi not uploading files
I have seen multiple threads about CAX80 Netgear Nighthawk not allowing people to upload files on 5g WiFi, I am also having this problem. I recently “upgraded” my modem to this device. I am only able ...

Jan 03, 2025I was having the same problem on both my 2015 MacBook Pro and my 2022 Mac Studio M1 Max. On both devices, upload speed tests indicated fast speeds, and uploading files via gmail was fast. The issue was happening with file attachments on both Slack and Apple Mail on both devices. Anything over ~80kb would fail.
As to FURRYe38's questions:
What FW is loaded on the CAX80? V5.1.1.8
What ISP is the CAX80 connected too? Xfinity
What wifi devices are connected to 5Ghz? Brand and model#. See above
Is Smart Connect enabled? Yes
What channels are you using for 5Ghz? 36 (P) + 40 + 44 + 48 + 52 + 56 + 60 + 64
Is MIMO enabled? Yes
Does problem happen if you disable AX mode on 5Ghz? NO
In short, I had AX mode enabled; turning it off fixed the problem for me. I included the other info in case it helps someone else.
Thanks FURRYe38!

Thank you for adding this information. I hope it is helpful for anyone having this issue. I set everything the same as yours and still have this issue.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, disabling AX mode only worked temporarily. As of this morning, Slack and Mail file attachments are failing to upload again. 🙁

Could I get you two to enable debug logging on the gateways debug web page at router IP address/debug.htm. Enable WAN/LAN capture and well then start logging. Then reproduce the 5Ghz wireless uploading of files issue. After that's reproduced, select Save Logs.
After logs have been saved, place the .zip file up on a cloud service and PM the link to this file so I can get this over to NG for review.

I appreciate your efforts, but unfortunately I had the same result as the person who replied to you in this Reddit thread: I clicked the "Save Debug Log" button and the page just never resolved and nothing was downloaded. I gave it about five minutes, after which I had to power off the router because I couldn't even return to the settings pages. Upon rebooting, I was forced to go through the new password / security questions setup again.
I opened a case since I'm still under warranty. I'll update here if anything comes of it.
