Netgear Nighthawk C7800 - Any Firmware updates? Cox ISP says they have no firmware they can push.
Are there any updates to the firmware at all? I contacted my ISP and they said there are none on their end, but... Perhaps there's something with Netgear personally that I can get? I went to the C...

ISP's rarely update firmware. Netgear sends them the firmware but it costs them $ to certify it. so they don't.
And you've found the sad circle of "its their fault" that you go through with ISPs and manufacturers.
Its why we usually recommend buying the modem sperate from the router.
What issue are you having you think a firmware update might help with?

I checked almost every other aspect- but every computer in the house is getting dropped specifically from a "Call to Arms" event in Red Dead Online.
Tried opening ports, tried enabling/disabling UPNP, tried adjusting firewall settings, etc... Nothing seems to cure this issue on all the computers. :(
Trying to cut out as many of the potential problems as possible before we all just abandon the idea of playing Red Dead Online lol

have you tried using a different dns provider for both IPv4 and IPv6?

The DNS question is a good avenue to pursue and it is easy to adjust and it affects every machine connected to your router. The R7800 has optional settings for IPv4 and IPv6 primary and secondary addresses. The IPv4 setting is in the Basic internet setup section and the IPv6 setting is in the Advanced Advanced Setup section.
I have been using public OpenDNS servers for both the IPv4 and IPv6 primary options and my ISP servers for the secondary. It has worked well for several years.

I did indeed try the DNS setup change for ipv4 and ipv6 on my local machine as well as in the router.
I can't seem to find the ipv4 on the basic settings area of the router, but I do see it on advanced > internet setup. I'm not sure if it's because i have a c7800 or not... Or if r7800 and c7800 are the same or not, but I don't see anything in the basic settings regarding DNS. But I changed it on my router to double check as well.
I am currently using 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
