Netgear Nighthawk C7800 - Best Settings for Gaming? Should I turn of IPV6? Turn off ipv6 firewall?

For some reason in some games I get disconnected. Like in Red Dead online. It's probably on Rockstars end, or my ISP... BUT- I still want to make sure my settings are optimized in my new router.

I got Cox Gigablast and the c7800. Now I can't play story mode events in red dead online, I don't want to run any risks of other games messing up JUST in case it's my router that's got something being blocked specifically.

What are some settings I can mess with in my router to adjust things to make it the "best possible outcome" for MOST games today?

Should I turn off ipv6? Should I turn off the ipv6 firewall? What kind of things can I adjust?

I tried changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4, but that just turned off the entirety of our internet... So I'm not entirely sure what else to do at this point to try and make things better. I open ports for games usually, so that's not an issue, but.. Any other settings I can try out would be great Smiley Happy

What things can I adjust to make the settings the "most efficient" for gaming?

This modem gateway combo may not be the best for gaming. Maybe 1 or 2 PCs gaming at a time.

DNS can't be ISP DNS, OpenDNS or others like cloudfare or Quad 9. These don't really impact gaming.

Wired ethernet connections is always preferred over wireless for best gaming performances.

If your really into gaming, you may want to covert the C7800 into a modem only and connect up a better router like NGs XR series gaming routers that can better handle gaming devices.
