I purchased the NETGEAR Nighthawk Cable Modem CM1200 on Amazon. The headline stated "Compatible with all Cable Providers", and after I ordered it I then (after the fact) noticed it says in the fine p...

I have u-verse. I purchased the netgear nighthawk X6S router. My u-verse router is 7 years old. So is my u-verse modem. My new netgear nighthawk X6S has no problem communicating with the old u-verse modem. I’m not anticipating any problems when i get my new netgear CM1200 modem.

IF your on a ATT ISP service, there services don't support cable modems, most of there services for either DSL or Fiber. Pleae contact ATT to ensure what modems are supported by them if any.

None of that is a model number. Look for "Model" on the product
label.> [...] My u-verse router is 7 years old. [...]
Aside from its age, I know nothing about it. Maker? Model number?

That's nice, but no one here was predicting any problems with
communication between any modem and any router. The concern is about
communication between a cable modem and your ISP. With no useful
information about your "my u-verse modem", the non-psychics in your
audience are left to guess at what might be compatible with your
service. And the current guesses are that you might want to anticipate some
problems.- qxinfinitySep 04, 2020AspirantModem, (Pace) AT&T model: 3801HGV

My Web search suggests that that's a DSL modem+router (gateway), not
a cable-TV-type anything.> Router, (Cisco) AT&T VEN401-AT
My Web search suggests that that's a wireless access point, not a
router.

- qxinfinitySep 13, 2020AspirantSo far I’ve gotten 2 connections out of 4 connections to work. Still working on the rest. A little more time tweeting the modem.
