Netgear router resetting
I powered down my C7000v2 Netgear modem-router and when I powered it back on, the device had reset to the default SSID and password that it came with.
This happened to me a few years ago with another Netgear device. To this day I still don't understand why this happened.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
I've not heard anything about any modem resetting at a 3 year mark. NG modems and routers are designed to be running online 24/7 baring any odd problems coming in from the ISP signal or house power outages.

No sure. Something to test out. Set some configurations on the modem.
So a backup configuration to file here:
Disconnect the ISP coax cable from the modem. Then power OFF the modem for 1 minute, then back ON. Go in and check the configurations you set up and see if they persist or not.
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
Please post a copy and paste of the modems connection status and event log page.

Thanks FURRYe38. My ISP tells me that I have the latest firmware installed for the modem/router and I'll need to get a backup now that it's all configured again.
As I was talking to the ISP tech I asked if they had seen this before. They told me that it's not unusual for Netgear routers to reset themselves after abut 3 years of use (I've had mine for 3 years and a month). Is there any truth to this?
