Since the factory reset did not resolve the multi-gig port issue, I must return this product.
The port got worse after the factory reset!

Is the CAT cable UTP or STP?

If it has SSTP on the cover, does that mean it is STP?

Even with the new firmware and different cables from different brands (all rated for more than 2.5 Gbps), the connection on this port is extremely unstable. As soon as I turn off the WiFi radios, the issue disappears COMPLETELY.
Since with the WiFi radios off, this becomes a very expensive cable modem, I must return it to Amazon at 2.5 Gbps.

Looking for CAT# and STP, means Shielded Twisted Pair and the plug ends have metal covering around the plug end portion.
Reason for asking, I found that my RAXE500 was mysteriously rebooting when I had it connected to my CAX80 on the 2.5Gb port. I was initially using CAT6 U(un-sheilded) TP. After changing to CAT6A STP, the RAXE500 stopped mysteriously rebooting.
Wondering if there is a 2.5Gb port and cabling noise issue. I let NG know what I found.- GACubanMay 11, 2022Star
Thanks. It took me 6 tries and 15 minutes to add that post. 🙂 Every time I tried to click on the post button, I would get the message that no internet connection was available. Yet my work laptop also connected to one of the regular Gig ports on this device is working fine with no problems.
Both devices have the STP type cabling, so it is the connection with the WiFi. I turned off the radios and everything works like a dream.
