Nighthawk AC1900 C7000 WiFi Cable Modem Router - SLOW WIFI SPEED

Hi. Looking for some help.


Hardware: Nighthawk AC1900 C7000 WiFi Cable Modem Router

ISP: Xfinity 300mbs plan

Wired download speeds are good. 300-350 mbps.
Wifi speeds are terribly slow 1-3 mbps.

I have tried both 5GHz and 2.4GHz and nothing changes.

 

If anyone has suggestions or has fixed this problem before I would appreciate the help. Thank you

    Have you tested on more than 1 device?

    What devices are you testing on?

    I am testing iPhone and iPad and a Mackbook.

    I did a factory restet and switched back and fourth from 5GHz to 2.4GHz a few times.  I am gettin better download speeds with 2.4GHz now - 40-60 mbps.  5GHz us still 1-3 mbps.

    Now after the reset 2.4GHz seems to be fast enough for streaming etc.  Am I capped here?  Is there a way to make it faster?

      2.4ghz is hitting its expected speeds (its slower than 5gh). 

      Your 5ghz should be faster. Have you tried a different channel on 5ghz?

      Have you a windows or android device? Maybe its a mac issue.
