Nighthawk AC1900 C7000V2 Modem Router slow download speeds
I have 600 MBPS coming into the unit and if I get within 3' of it, I can get about 211 coming out via WIFI. That is with the Ookla speed testing. Unplugging it for a period doesn't change anything. F...

1. what wired speed to you get?
2. are you testing over 2.4ghz or 5ghz?
3. what actual device are you testing the speeds on?
4. You won't hit 600mbps over wireless on that router. 300-400mbps is more around the range you can expect over 5ghz for that devices.

My ethernet speed with a new cable & Ookla testing is about 94 with 2.4. I'm using my laptop.

Your statement above does not make a whole lot of sense. New Ethernet cable connecting what to what?
Over the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band, a test throughput of 94 Mbps is not bad. How old is your laptop? What operating system?
Have you run a throughput test using your laptop connected to the 5 GHz band?

All right. Connecting the modem router to the pc via an ethernet cable connection then running the Ookla speed test on the 3- or 4-year-old HP updated windows 10 pc model #15-au063nr. Can't run 5GHz with ethernet. Have previously posted 5GHz Wi-Fi speed. Within 3' of the modem router I got a 211, within 6' of the modem router I got 198 with the Ookla speed test. The Exfinity speed test isn't worth the effort to run.
I previously said I had 600 coming in, I am wrong there, it is 400. How can 94 going out be "not bad", when you have 400 going in? That doesn't make sense either.

The throughput coming in is over the cable. I agree the Xfinity test is not worthwhile. Stick with Ookla.
What you have coming in over cable is what you should have going out over Ethernet to a computer. You will not see that over Wi-Fi. If you have Wi-Fi in at the computer at 100 Mbps over the 2.4 GHz band that is good. If you have Wi-Fi in at the computer at 300 Mbps over the 5 GHz band, that is good.

Does your laptop have an Ethernet input port or is it Wi-Fi only?
