Nighthawk AC1900 disconnects to VPN every few minutes

I have this issue where my employer's vpn gets disconnected every few minutes. I have been on calls with Nestgear technicians for over 6 hours today to get this issue fixed. Every time I am given a case number and said that some senior technician would be calling up to resolve the issue but I do not get a call back withing the promised time. I have come to the conclusion that Netgear does not have a fix and I am returning this modem and router to the vendor.
