Do you mean setting a reserved IP address ON the modem for the PC? Static is a IP address that is set ON a device, not the router.
Can you access the modems web page at 192.168.100.1 or .0.1?
- Yes I can access it and reserve the ip, but the problem I'm having is the table that holds all the active ip addresses clears any non-active ip after 15 minutes. I need to be able to access it via telnet to add an arp command to hold that up+Mac address until the modem/router is reset. (Static) that way when I try to wol outside of my network it will find my computer.
And you can't get telnet working? Some modems don't support telnet.
Try to see if you can access 192.168.0.1\debug.htm, If you can get here, there maybe a telnet check box. Enable the check box then telnet will be enabled for access.
- Yep that's my problem is I can't access it anymore. For whatever reason I was able to do it last year and I can't this year. The telnetenable.exe says telnet should be working when I use it, but no cigar.
