Upon setting up my Nighthawk AC1900 modem, I'm getting speeds from 2.0 mbps around 50 mbps with my PC. Have only up to two devices being used and should be getting, per my contract with Xfinity, up ...

I tried that and, sadly, it made no difference. At this point, thinking it could be a firmware issue. Your suggestions?

OK, with same ISP cable not connected to the modem, try a 30-30-30 reset on the modem and see if this can get you to the setup screen with a ethernet connected PC. Be sure to try 192.168.1.1 or .192.168.0.1.

I did the 30-30-30 reset as you suggested with Ethernet connection. No difference. I still get the "404 - No file or directory found" with 192.168.0.1 and the session timeout message with 192.168.1.1. Per another use's suggestion, I entered the URl ' http://admin:password@192.168.0.1' which was to which embed the user+password; however, that still produced the server error 404 message. Upon doing so, the URL in the browser address bar changed to 'https://www.routerlogin.com/genie_index.htm.'. My prior modem was also a Netgear product which is why I went with the same manufacturer but never had this much trouble with it. I appreciate all you help with this; but at this point I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or this modem/model just won't work the way it should. All I want to was change it from 2.4 GHz to 5 GHz. Just didn't envision it being so problematic. Maybe I need to just return it.

Ya if that didn't get you in thru the log in then seems like this unit is faulty and should be returned. The C7000 series is several years old and if your looking for a gateway modem, you might check into the CAX series gateways. Newer generation. Or find a modem only option then connect up a external wifi router system that you can manage.
Good Luck.

Wished I had known the C7000 series was quite old for I would not have bought it. I will look into your suggestions. Thanks, again, for all your help.
