Thank you for your reply. I contacted Xfinity again. The bot on the phone said there was a problem and a technician had to come out. He just left. two of my cable lines were bad, giving intermittent service. He found a good one in a spare room and set everything up correctly and it now all works! Even the Kindles! So I've learned that intermittent service is most likely the lines into the house. He said they were bad. The house is 18 years old so I guess they age and wear out. Thank you again for your reply and helpful info. I'm sure it will also help others.

Glad then got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
