Look for the model number on the label on the device.
Remember that Netgear has abandoned some ReadySHARE features, such as ReadyCLOUD.

There are many different backup options out there. The choice depends on what you want to do. I like SyncBack:
Backup Software that does everything you need, and much more
But that is a personal preference. Others here may have their own favourite.
