Nighthawk c7000

I'm trying to have a fully ETHERNET connected home network with NO wireless devices.  In NETGEAR GENIE, I have WIRELESS

TURNED OFF.  However, when I TEST a WIRELESS connection on one of my devices (I have many, I'm a geek) it often CONNECTS

WIRELESSLY; does this mean that WIRELESS IS NOT REALLY TURNED OFF BY NETGEAR ROUTER?  When I go back to Genie after connecting wirelessly, it still says wireless is turned OFF.  How does this happen?  I'm trying to avoid as much EMF or other radiation as I can,

so I am wondering if anyone can answer this question.    vsnyder@sbcglobal.net   or  vsnyder0923@gmail.com.    THANKS,

dont just turn off SSID broadcast, Turn OFF THE RADIO from the advanced wireless settings via GUI page.
