Nighthawk c7000v2 not connected to PlugLink 9650

I have a PlugLink 9650 ethernet connected to the back of my nighthawk but the connectivity light on the nighthawk is still yellow leading me to believe it is not getting to the internet. The other side is plugged into my solar system for remote monitoring. I can see the device plugged into the nighthawk via the pluglink software on my computer but that's it unfortunately. A scan of connected devices on the nighthawk app shows nothing plugged into the port in the back. Please advise?
