Nighthawk C7000V2 problems sending and recieving sms on phone

Started having a strange issue ever since moving to a new house and purchasing a Nighthawk C7000V2 router. I have been experiencing problems sending and receiving SMS messages only while my phone is connected to my router at home. If I disconnect from WiFi I can send and receive as normal, I have tried connecting to different routers at different locations also using Xfinity as a provider and SMS works with no problems.

I have factory reset my phone twice, router once, have searched and found other posts with similar problems but no posted solutions so I'm posting my own hoping for help.

Info:

Phone- Pixel 3 on Verizon

Internet- Xfinity/Comcast

Router- C7000V2

Firmware- V1.03.01

From researching this, it seems like an issue with wifi calling implementation and RCS messaging and net necessarily the router.
some have gotten it to working by disabling wifi calling, some have gotten it working with by resetting the wifi mobile/BT module, some haven't gotten it working.

I've also found and tried all of the same tricks I'm assuming you're referring to. With the fact that everything works with no problems while connected to a Xfinity rented router at other locations and others having similar issues with Netgear routers I'm pretty confident it's something with the settings/setup of the router causing the problem.

One thing I noticed as well with my iphone and network system. SMS seems to not work or be sent over the wifi protocols. I saw this as I have a in home microcell device due to low cell signals here at home. One time I had it the microcell OFF and was attempting to send texts thru the phone and they were not getting out. After I disabled the wifi radio on my phone, the texts went out and were delievered. I believe this is a limitation of the wifi calling and how SMS messages are handled on the phones.
