nighthawk C7100V ping delays

Question

Using netgear C7100V with Xfinity cable connection. I am facing ping delay time (up-to 30ms) on wired cable directly connected to my laptop. Overall performance via cable modem/router is not stable. No ping drops to internet or on lan but some ping time gets high in between. What can be the reason. Pls help. Thanks in advance.

How are you testing these ping times?&nbsp;I find a lot of people say they have ping issues when hardwired and then when you figure out where the issue is, its not in the computer----&gt;router/modem connection. Its after that going modem----&gt;isp----level3/other backbone supplier.&nbsp;&nbsp;
