Nighthawk CAX80 - Can't upload to Slack or Shotgrid
Hello, for the longest time I've been having trouble with my NightHawk CAX80. Purchased end of 2022, since then I've had trouble with uploads. Downloads are fine, but uploads fail 90% of the time, pa...

Thanks so much FURRYe38 , I will try these out as soon as I can get Comcast out here.
I'm using the CAX80 as my modem and my router, btw, in case that changes anything.
So these correctables and uncorrectables are all bad to see right? Should I expect to see none of those in the diagnostic report, in a properly functioning modem/coax cable setup?

Keep in mind, the values for the correctables and uncorrectables are cumulative over time since the last reboot. When you reboot, they reset to zero. Seeing values in excess of say 1000 over a few days is different than seeing the same number over several weeks or months.

Ah ok, thanks to both of you. I will reboot and check the numbers again, and present that data to Xfinity

I do not know what area of the country you are living in. But, be aware there is a lot of churn on the Xfinity network nationwide due to the upgrades they are putting in place.
Good luck.

time to take a humble pill - rebooting the router seems to have fixed it. Also I switched the ethernet cable from the LAN / Multi-gig 2.5 - 1G port to one of the "Aggregate" ports on the router. Since doing both those things, uploads to Shotgrid and Slack are working fine again. I also ran the router cable diagnostic and got 0 correctables and 0 uncorrectables across the board. I should have tried rebooting the router as my first step! I think the fact that it was failing uploads on Slack and Shotgrid specifically while google drive / other uploads seemed fine threw me off. FWIW I also ran "ipconfig /flushdns" on my computers because windows troubleshooter suggested it on my personal computer but I think that's unrelated.
Thanks all for the help - I guess now if I see correctables/uncorrectables I'll reboot the router again

Does the multi gig port work again after you rebooted the modem?
What is the ethernet device connected when it was on the MG port?
The MG port should work as well..depends though some.

hey good question - I tried it again and I'm getting the same type of upload fails on Shotgrid/Slack.
(still 0 correctables and 0 uncorrectables if that matters).
I think the port must be the main issue then?

I'm also on a VPN for my work computer, in case that makes a difference.
Also have no idea what the difference is between the "LAN / Multi-gig 2.5 - 1G" and "Aggregate" (labeled 1-4) ports, I probably should have googled that before using the former. - FURRYe38Sep 17, 2023Guru - Experienced User
Whats the other end device brand and model ethernet adapter connected on the MG port?
Using CAT6A STP cable while connected to MG port from wired PC?
Try testing without VPN enabled?
Possible. Would need to try a different device or PC connected to the MG port to compare and see if problem follows...

I will test those situations when I can -
The computer I was having issues with is a custom built desktop/tower PC that work provided...plugged into a "ProArt X570 Creative WIFI" motherboard, looks like the ethernet adapter is an Intel Ethernet Controller (3) l225-V
Ethernet cable is a 75ft High Performance Cat6 ,30 AWG,UL Listed,RJ45 Ethernet Patch Cable

Be sure the drivers are up to date on that ethernet adapter.
Does the CAT6 cable say CAT6 or CAT6A? There is a difference. Is there a metal shrowd covering the plug ends?
