Nighthawk CAX80 Intermittent internet disconnections
I am hoping someone can help. My Xfinity internet intermittently completely drops out, on both ethernet connections and Wifi, on avg, about 2-3 times per hour. However it will sometimes go a few hour...
As a follow up and to close out this thread in case anyone else has similar issues, we finally identified the root cause and resolved the issue. The coax line from the cable provider (comcast) that goes from a box in my neighbors yard to my house was bad and needed to be replaced (which required running it underground). Once replaced all of the issues identified in this thread were resolved.

Event logs and the cable connections page are what we're looking for. It shows the connection back to the isp so we can check the line's connection.

Take a screensnip. But based off the logs, there's some type of issues with the line. You're having t3/4 errors and range window violations. so connection and power issues with it. The cable connections tells us if to much power, not enough, or to many channels out of spec compared to each other. That allows us to give you some clues you can look for on your end before having to contact the ISP

Your power levels actually look pretty spot on but there's a ton of errors in the line.
Start with removing any amplifiers, signal attenuators, or splitters from the coax.
From there, check the line for kinks, damage, and moisture in the line.
Check the connectors for improperly made ends, foil touching the copper coax line, loose connections, bad/old/cheap connectors, or corroded connections. Replace them if you do.
If you can, connect the modem right where the coax comes into the home. This prevents wiring in the home from being the issue. And some ISPs charge if the wiring issue is in the home. So this helps prevent this.start with that. Once done, clear the cable connections page (reboot should do that) and monitor it. If you still get all those errors, the isp will have to check the line.
