Nighthawk CM1000v2 Low Speed Suddenly

Earlier in the week, I had a day where my internet was suddenly going in and out throughout the day while I was attempting to work. Xfinity didn’t have any outages and couldn’t connect to my Nighthawk CM1000v2 modem. I followed troubleshoot guides of unplugging, swapping wires, tightening wires. Nothing seemed to work and periodically throughout the day it would continue to just go out. The next day it no longer went out, but now I’m getting extremely slow speeds. Before I would get around 250-300 download and now I’m get 35 wired and 15 on WiFi. I can do basic things like watch Netflix and work, but I can’t do things like play video games online. It’s really frustrating and xfinity just keeps saying it’s an issue with Netgear. What other steps can I take to return my services to normal? Is it just because the modem is old now and I have to spend money to replace it?

Modem is plugged directly into wall. There wasn’t any storms or power surges that occurred leading up to it malfunctioning.
