Nighthawk CM1200 Modem installed and now Sonos is not working
I have recently upgraded to a nighthawk CM1200 modem. My sonos systems keeps telling me that my phone is not on the same network as my sonos system. I have tried all the troubleshooting steps sugg...
You put you have plugged the sonos into the modem.
The CM1200 has 4x ethernet ports but for the average user, only 1 device can be connected to it. Reason why is the majority of isp's (not all) only allow 1 public ip address. And that goes for the router.
The exceptions to this is the rare isp that does allow more than 1 public ip address, those with a business class line, and those who pay their ISP for more than 1 public ip address.
So make sure you're going:
CM1200------>google router/mesh----->sonos device/devices.
They (sonos) shouldn't connect directly to the modem.
