1. what modem are you using? model
2. what firmware is on your router?
3. what speedtest site are you using? when it selects servers to test off, some speedtest sites don't always choose the best. also make sure you're hardwired in for testing and don't use a gaming console for speedtesting.
4. when you setup the router, make sure not to enable qos, traffic monitoring, access control. If you did enable those, you can try disabling and rebooting but some have needed to factory reset to fully clear them out.
- CalvilloApr 18, 2020AspirantUsing arris model tg3452 wireless/cable modem i have bridged it to turn off double nat in past still only pulling 150 when I pay for 600 , I am with tds telecommunications I used their website speedtest.tds.net on both laptop and gaming console I've used regular Xbox live speed test on Xbox with both modem and router with modem bridged and not bridged I used gofast.com on both laptop and gaming console and keep in mind all wired connection speed test and I get significantly lower speeds on download from router than I do modem . I have everything off and fully erased on router didnt even change the name of network or password and everything off i took screen shot of version im using and still speed are way way lower on router

Not every's bridge mode functions properly. Something to try is to re-enable the Arris's router mode and put the netgear in AP (access point) mode.
another thing you can try is the R8000 recieved netgear armor on the version your on. not all devices responded well. You can try downgrading the firmware a version. if you do this, make sure to do it over a hardwired connection, factory reset afterwards, and manually re-install (not from backup).
also, try dslreports.com for speedtesting.
