No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out **** multiple disconnects every day
I've been struggling with multiple disconnects every day. My xfinity cable drop is in the garage and from there it's connected to a Netgear CM700 modem. From the modem I'm connected to a DLink router...

Disconnect the D-Link router from the modem to isolate the issue.
Be sure you don't have any coax cable line splitters in between the modem and ISP service box.
It's up to the ISP to ensure you have good signal and line quality up to the modem.
Test with a wired PC directly connected to the modem. If you do experience same issues with this PC, try another modem out to see if same thing happens. IF it does, then ISP needs to send someone out and check the line up to the modem. If not, then you'll know you may have a faulty modem.
What is the model # of the D-Link router?

Will check on the splitter, if there is any. Is there a utility i can run on a laptop connected directly to the modem to monitor the status of the connection? Since the issue is intermittent it happens randomly multiple times during the day. Yesterday it was about once every hour. Also, since there's only one connection out from the modem, essentially i'll be disconnecting the internet from all devices in my home, so I would prefer to run this test overnight.
The D-Link router is DIR-655 which is quite old but it's in the garage right next to the modem and all it's doing is providing wired connections across my home.- FURRYe38Sep 13, 2019Guru - Experienced User
What Rev# is the 655? That was a good router.
PingPlotter.com would be recommended on a PC connected directly to the modem and let it run. It should pick up issues. If it does, check the for spitters then also have the ISP check there logs for these times when you notice this happening.
