No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out **** multiple disconnects every day
I've been struggling with multiple disconnects every day. My xfinity cable drop is in the garage and from there it's connected to a Netgear CM700 modem. From the modem I'm connected to a DLink router...

Will check on the splitter, if there is any. Is there a utility i can run on a laptop connected directly to the modem to monitor the status of the connection? Since the issue is intermittent it happens randomly multiple times during the day. Yesterday it was about once every hour. Also, since there's only one connection out from the modem, essentially i'll be disconnecting the internet from all devices in my home, so I would prefer to run this test overnight.
The D-Link router is DIR-655 which is quite old but it's in the garage right next to the modem and all it's doing is providing wired connections across my home.

What Rev# is the 655? That was a good router.
PingPlotter.com would be recommended on a PC connected directly to the modem and let it run. It should pick up issues. If it does, check the for spitters then also have the ISP check there logs for these times when you notice this happening.

Thanks! Will try PingPlotter and report back with other findings over the weekend.

So I did couple of things over the weekend. Right outside the garage where I have the line drop in from Comcast, I do see a device which seems like a powered splitter manufactured by Commscope. The incoming line was being split into 3 lines which I don't need so I disconnected two of them and only left the one that need plugged in. Next I ran PingPlotter the whole night (while connected hard wired to the modem) and I didn't see any drops! I'm running another test while connected to DIR-655 using a hard wire, since last night and will run it through the day today. If there aren't any drops, then I can most definitely attribute it to the splitter.
The DIR-655 is a Rev A.
